Q : What is NSEF?
A : The National Social Entrepreneurship Forum promotes social entrepreneurship among the students of major universities by inspiring, educating and supporting the next generation of social entrepreneurs and creating environments where they can succeed. NSEF helps to educate these young leaders about social problems, expose them to the opportunities in the sector, foster innovation in solving social problems and nurture budding entrepreneurs through the high quality ecosystem that NSEF creates in these institutes.
Q : What is NSEF – Author?
A :
NSEF Author is your opportunity to script a story and author a change in the life of hundreds of Rajus who'll benefit from your knowledge. Tell us how you'll author a change and we'll give you enriching, unforgettable, life changing stories. This summer more than 12 eminent social enterprises are waiting to hear your story. A story of change waiting to happen in India.
Q : What is the duration of the internship?
A :
The duration of the internship will vary between 2-2.5 months depending on the university schedule.
Q : What is the stipend offered?
A :
The partner enterprises will offer a stipend and most of them will provide accommodation to the interns. However, details of the stipend and compensation vary for each organization and will be shared with the interns after the selection process.
Q : How do I apply?
A :
Applications for NSEF Author will be open from February 15th, 2010. The deadline to submit your entries is March 10, 2010. Please make sure that you send your responses as an attachment in word (doc, docx) or pdf format to internships@nsef-india.org. Please attach your resume along with the essay responses. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. Applicants are encouraged to provide references, however failing to do so will not disqualify you. Applicants, who are providing references, please include the details of your references' (Name, Contact Details (official Email), Organization, Designation, Relationship with you) in your resume. All applications must be made online. If you have any queries or difficulties in registration process, please write us at internships@nsef-india.org.
Q : What are the eligibility criteria?
A :
You should be a student enrolled in a university for a graduate or an under graduate course. Applications are open to students of all streams.
Q : What should I write about in the essays?
A :
Essays are an opportunity for us to understand your interests, know your strengths and assess your fit with one of our partner enterprises. Feel free to choose the style or the format you like to communicate your ideas. You can apply to a maximum of 3 social enterprises and a minimum of 2( indicate preference). Use the Arial font, font size 12 for the text, font size of 14 for the essay questions. Please stick to the word limit of 500 words. Please attach your resume which included the details of your references (if any). Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
Q : Can I participate in the program if I am graduating this summer?
A :
We will evaluate your application as long as you indicate your willingness to attend the internship program, if selected.
